Menno Aden, Artist from Berlin structures, cartographic photography, topography
Exhibition view at LAGE EGAL, 2020
Movements of industrial robots through the eyes of an industrial line scan camera. A line scan camera works like a fixed scanner. It's used in assembly lines for quality control, where its image data is read by machines. Aden makes these image data visible and "portrays" machines through the eye of another machine.
The series refers to the "Outdatedness of Human Beings" in modern working environments, which was already recognized by the philosopher Günther Anders in the 1950s.
